Two fantasy book covers for Becky Allen and her series "Bound By Blood and Sand". ⌛

I really love the composition here, and the intense, saturated colours.👌

Fun fact: This is something we can play with on e-book editions of self-published books. Colours that are very saturated and bright (especially blues) are usually impossible to print using regular methods available via self-pub platforms like Amazon.

Hear me out: I'm in my blue phase. 😆

My apartment is mostly 50 shades of blue. Most of my shirts are blue. I tried fighting it, but ultimately gave up and decided to go with the blue flow until I get tired of it. So the self portrait? Also blue. 😅

I tried to experiment with different brushes and work out a style that's not as time-consuming and detailed as my usuall fully-rendered illustrations.

Also a big thank you to @kate.re.great, who reminded me I have more interests than just books and painting and prompted me to add more icons. 🗡️ 🏰 ✨️

"The Spellbound Savant" by Jayne Rice - book 2 in a 3-book young adult fantasy series. ✨️

These illustrations are probably one of my favurites this year - book 3 is also already done, and each features a different character, but with a consistent layout, style, and mood. It was really fun to work on these!
