Yearly #Mermay throwback! Even though I mostly switched to painting, I still think the old photomanips look pretty cool 😎 The experience I got by doing photomanipulations definitely was a huge benefit when learning painting... but it was (and still is!) a long road!

I'm working on a new mermaid artwork - a painted one 😉 - and I'll show it to you most likely next month! ♥️

"Gi sorgen en stemme" by Wenche Buchman - a non-fi

"Gi sorgen en stemme" by Wenche Buchman - a non-fiction book about dealing with grief after losing a loved one.

I had the pleasure to design both the interior and the cover, and I love the theme author suggested - sea and waves are visible in every element of the book. In the interior, we used several subtle decorative elements - a muted blue colour, wavy lines to underline quotes, a very delicate, wavy pattern on otherwise empty pages, tiny hearts instead of regular bullet points. Such small details can really give a book layout character!

April was... probably the toughest month of this y

April was... probably the toughest month of this year so far. 😅

It was filled with a lot of work and a lot of personal challenges. I'm hoping things will go back to normal in May, because I also have A LOT to show you - covers, layouts, illustrations - it's a long list!

I ended up not painting much, and sketched instead. The biggest win of the month? The fact that my cat has decided to accompany me and deemed my lap to be immensely comfortable. If you've been here a while, you may remember that it took her three years to get to this point - and I still do a small internal YAY! whenever she comes to cuddle. 😆 🐈‍⬛
