#inktober favourites, part two - "Amaterasu", Japa #inktober favourites, part two - "Amaterasu", Japanese goddess of the sun; "Ask and Embla", the first people according to Nordic mythology; "Hou Yi", an archer from a Chinese legend; and "Cafe" - from a day I was tired of mythological themes. ⠀ ⠀ *⠀ How long do you usually spend on Inktober drawings, if you're taking part in it? For me, it's usually an hour or two in the evenings, when I'm watching a TV show or a movie and sipping tea on my couch. I keep seeing these crazy detailed works here on IG, and I'm in awe of all those fantastic artists... and then I remember how much time I actually have that I can spend on these, and I give myself absolution. ;) Some folks plan ahead for Inktober and spend half a day on these drawings to make it epic; some use it to experiment with different methods, and others - like me! - to build a regular drawing habit. What about you? ⠀ ⠀ *⠀ I'm also trying to go out of my comfort zone a bit this month, and draw things I'm not very good at - so, basically anything that isn't a background-less portrait! 😅 I do get discouraged from time to time - the "Ask and Embla" image I started twice, since I royally messed up anatomy on the first version. LONG time.
